About

Hi, my name is Kirsteen.

I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), an endorsed registered midwife, a registered nurse and a mum to three beautiful boys.

I have been supporting women to feed their babies for over 12 years as a midwife in the public health system in Melbourne. After having my second baby I transitioned into the homebirth space as a privately practicing endorsed midwife. I am passionate about supporting women to achieve their feeding goals and empower them with education and evidence-based information to make informed choices.

I have breastfed all three of my boys and experienced my own challenges with it. My personal breastfeeding journey has included tongue ties, cracked nipples, nipple thrush, Raynaud’s Syndrome, breast refusal, discoordinated suck, expressing, topping up, static weights, and many many tears. I will never forget going to see a lactation consultant with my first baby after crying through feeds for 8 weeks and being told “you’re a midwife why do you need help”. I strongly believe that every breastfeeding journey is different and unique and whether you have zero breastfeeding knowledge or are an experienced midwife, we are all just parents trying to do what’s best for our babies and that looks different for everyone.

I am here to support you in your individual journey, to empower you to trust your instincts, to tune into your baby and their needs, and to succeed in your feeding goals.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out xx
